Read through of the story, a developmental editorial letter and markup on manuscript.
This edit looks at the big-picture aspects of your book: plot, character, pacing and style. It points out plot holes and scenes or chapters that could be revamped. It is about taking your story to the next level. Your story edit includes an editorial letter and in-text comments on structure, word choice, and genre marketability. This is an in-depth examination, focused on the story as a marketable product within its genre.
My goal is to help you craft a story that will bring reader back for the next in the series. The edits you accept, or decline are up to you. You are the writer. My goal is to help you to see your options so that when you go to print you feel the peace of mind that comes from knowing it is the best version of the story you want to put in your readers' hands.
Editorial letter: The editorial letter covers the following: plot, structure, voice, theme, pace, clarity, genre, consistency, setting, and character development, transitions, and superfluous material. Repetitive word choice, phrase overuse and variation of sentence structure may be touched on.
Specific examples from within the manuscript will be cited.
Markup on the manuscript - Comments and suggested fixes within the manuscript.
Average turnaround time: 3 - 6 weeks from start of read. There will be email updates and calls may be scheduled during the process.
A book map is not included, but if I do a table or chart, I will share that.
The writer should anticipate suggestions that involve rewriting, reordering, or changes to aspects of the story. Manuscripts will be evaluated based on genre and analysis of books within the genre. The writer will receive updates via email, and two thirty-minute calls may be scheduled to discuss your WIP.
